Who looks at the mold and who removes it
Louisiana law makes it a violation for a mold remediation contractor to carry out both the mold assessment and the mold remediation on the same property, or to own a stake in both businesses (La. R.S. 37:2158(A)(23)). Jobs that begin with a call to this site follow that rule: an independent firm assesses the property and takes any samples, and a separate contractor does the removal. The statute is published by the Louisiana Legislature, and the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors and the Louisiana Department of Health publish guidance on mold remediation and on mold in the home.
