Lafayette Mold Experts wants this website to work for everyone who visits, whatever their abilities. This page sets out what has been done, what is still being worked on, and how to tell us about a barrier.

The standard we aim for

The goal is Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. The site is checked from time to time with the keyboard alone, with the VoiceOver and NVDA screen readers and with contrast checkers, and barriers found that way are fixed.

What is already in place

  • Plain HTML with a clear order of headings and the standard page regions: header, navigation, main content and footer.
  • A text description on every image that carries information, saying what the image shows.
  • Text, headings and buttons whose color contrast meets WCAG AA or better.
  • Menus, forms and buttons that all work from the keyboard, with nothing that needs a mouse.
  • Pages that reflow to a phone screen without losing content or features.
  • Link text that says where the link goes, never "click here".

What is still being worked on

Accessibility is never finished. Known items: captions for any video added in future (the site has none today), ARIA labels on form fields, and a fresh check whenever new pages go up.
